Mrs. Bukola Ayorinde has been arrested and arraigned as an alleged fake female house agent by the Lagos State Environmental and Special Offences Unit (Task Force) at a Lagos Mobile Court for defrauding customers seeking accommodation in Ikorodu area of the State.
Mrs. Ayoeinde was arrested by the officials of the agency after defrauding her latest victim, Mrs. Olusola Ola-John, the sum of N250.000.
The Chairman of the Agency, CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi, stated that the accused was arrested following the series of complaints from members of the public over some fake house agents obtaining a large sum of money from them and absconding.
According to him, the Agency acted on a petition received from one Mrs. Olusola Ola-John, who claimed she was defrauded of the sum of N250,000 over securing an apartment for her aged mother at Millennium Estate Igbe in Ikorodu by the suspect.
After investigations, it was discovered that the suspect was the same person as house agent around Ikorodu axis who defrauded a number of people.
“The suspect was charged for ‘Conduct Likely To Cause Breach Of Peace, Cheating and Obtaining N250,000 Under False Pretense’ before Chief Magistrate Abimbola Oshodi-Makanju of the Lagos State Mobile Court sitting at Bolade in Oshodi,” he said.
Meanwhile, the suspect was said to have pleaded guilty to the three-count charge while the presiding magistrate adjourned the case till Friday, 26th of June, 2020
