Kaduna Tertiary Students Locked Out Of School For Protesting Hike In Tuition

Students of Kaduna State University have been prevented from entering the school premises following their recent protest against the outrageous increase in tuition by the state government.

Some security agents said to be acting on the orders of the school management locked the gate and refused to allow any student to enter school premises on Monday.

The state governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai had increased their tuition by 200 percent, leading to a protest by the students.

Students therefore took to Hassan Ibrahim Kashim Road in protest and prayed on the road, asking God to touch the heart of El-Rufai to backtrack on the hike in fees.

El-Rufai has insisted on the increment despite interventions from notable people in the state, Capital Post reports.
