There were questions as to whether Natalie White, was somehow connected to Brooks, who mentioned a Natalie White when speaking with the police before the fatal shooting.
White, was suspected of burning down the Atlanta Wendy’s restaurant where Rayshard Brooks was fatally shot by police, has been arrested.
Lawyers for Brooks’ family said they were “unaware of any connection between the Natalie White that was arrested today for arson and the Natalie White mentioned by Rayshard Brooks in the bodycam video.”
“The only person who could answer questions regarding any connection they may have had is Natalie White,” the attorneys said.
Police issued an arrest warrant for her on June 20 and shared surveillance footage of her inside a store.
White was taken into custody on Tuesday June 23, by Fulton County sheriff’s fugitive unit. She has been charged with first-degree arson.
