EDO: Over 35 Police Officers Surround Abuja Court As Judge Rules on ‘Certificate Forgery’ Case Today

No fewer than 35 officers of the Nigeria Police Force and Civil Defence personnel’s are strategically positioned at a Federal High Court Abuja building (in Maitama) where Justice Ahmed Mohammed is billed on Saturday January 9, to rule on the alleged certificate forgery case instituted against Edo state governor, Godwin Obaseki.

The governor of Edo state was sued by the All Progressives Congress (APC) and one Mr Williams Edobor.

Sources said that, the police came with about seven patrol vans and everyone (particularly visitors and journalists) were told to wait outside the court till the case begins.

Recall that the defense counsel, Ken Moziah SAN had presented witnesses to prove the validity of Obaseki’s certificate.

But counsel for the APC, Chief Akin Olujimi, had claimed that he was confident that the judge would rule in his favor.

“We expect that we should win, that’s the confidence we have,” he told journalists on Thursday.
